Foundation

When you think of a Kiwanis Club, you think of a service club. This is described as the general membership who volunteer their time, money, and talents and who are, "...dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time". But in Port Clinton, the Kiwanis Club has a 501 (c)(3) organization known as Kiwanis Foundation of Port Clinton, in which every Kiwanis Club member is a member of the Foundation. All fundraisers for community improvements are channeled through the Kiwanis Foundation. The original purpose of Kiwanis Foundation has been to support college scholarships to seniors from Danbury and Port Clinton High School, which continues each year. All other youth and community projects are likewise supported through the Kiwanis Foundation.
